In The Moment

When we left the boys…

Edgar tested positive, ditched the health counselor, and disappeared. Is this, Edgar being Edgar or Something about Meth? Either way -Pretty boys are a terrible thing to waste. So work it out buddy! Then there’s Shawn, who can’t seem to shake off Edgar woes?  Dude seems happy with his beau Brandon, especially now that the test is in and both are negative. I wonder if all that shimmy-shimmy under the sheets with Brandon will help Shawn to Just say no to Edgar?

Then there’s my favorite Stephen- Poor Stephan, he’s been left high and dry without his bedroom buddy Mike. Did his time with the Diva of therapy Ms. Calpernia Addams pay off?– my advice - MOVE ON, WeHo LIFE is too short, for these games.  Carlos and Ricky, who are doing the commendable and courageous thing by mentoring a deserving LGBT teen. Glad Ricky didn’t let his HIV status scare him away from being an awesome role model! Way to go guys, what an inspiration! These boys are going out and fostering change in their own community. And doing so is easier then you think. Check out the Center’s own LIFEWORKS mentoring program that does exactly that, and become a hero in your own community, just like Carlos and Ricky.

So watch the new episode and don’t forget to tell us what you think! Remember boys, visit the famed watering hole Mickeys, or one of our many other condom sites throughout the city of WeHo, ” Wrap It Before You Tap it”, and help fight the spread of HIV.

Yeah, I'd like to see some sort of plot line progression for the Stephen character. That has really stagnated - and he's too cute to stagnate! The Ricky/Carlos mentoring thing is dull - not good drama. Using PC words like "hero" for things like that is a bit annoying. Besides, gay couples in their 20s are still working on their own issues, not mentoring gay teens. And gay teens would rather hang-out with their teen friends, not with an older couple.

The Edgar/meth arc is finally getting interesting, though. But the hotel room scene could have gone into more of the ugly underside of addiction and drug use. What a nasty world that is - but full of dramatic possibilities. I wish the ITM producers would ask me to write for the series!
