In The Moment

Over the holidays, I read this Quicken Resolution Poll showing how more than 50% of Americans vow to appreciate loved ones and spend more time with family and friends this year.

I wondered if my family and friends would be making my 2012 resolution list, then I started thinking what exactly it means to “appreciate” my loved and friends ones more.

I thought about how Ricky & Carlos were willing to mentor a HIV Positive African American teen named Paul. What does that take? Is it about being so committed to each other that they’re able to be open to helping someone else? Do they appreciate each other enough that they can be there for others, like when they were in the emergency room with their other friend waiting to hear news about their friend Edgar?

To so many of us the New Year is about making a new start, going to the gym, eating better, stop biting our nails. It’s a time when we feel like we can commit to some kind of a change. So just in case you’re stuck on what to add to your list, consider getting tested for HIV/STDS and using condoms. Even better, consider talking about HIV with family, partners and friends.

Turns out I’m right in line with the 50% of Americans who want to spend more time with the family and friends…So maybe I’ll have a ITM new season kickoff party – Can’t  wait to see what those WeHo boys have up their sleeves
